The Algobiente concert series started out with random speakers I had collected over the years, but sparked my interest in loudspeaker building. Inspired by the amazing Ottosonics project, I started developing portable multichannel setups.
The first iteration was a direct derivative of the Ottosonics speakers, adapted for laser cutting rather than 3D printing. The speakers, which I couldn't have created without the help of Andrés Costa who adapted the design and took care of the cutting, sounded great but were also a bit complicated in regards to portability.
The next iteration was shrunk down both in weight and size, while actually producing a wider range. That made a portable 10-channel setups and ambisonic shenanigans possible.
